Any idea what this is? I photographed it in Willis, Texas (just an hour north of Houston) in a heavily wooded area in early April.

Pretty sure it is some species of Geometer Moth. Hopefully flapdoodle will be along to give it a more specific ID.

Unfortunately, I cannot offer a specific i.d. on this one at present. As I'm sure you are aware, the family Geometridae is a huge one that includes several groups of species having very similar color patterns. If I stumble across something later, I will get back to this one. Right now, am pretty busy helping out my brother on his farm near Minot...
Thanks, Flapdoodle. No hurry whatsoever. I have been looking at the family and it looks impossible to narrow down to the species with my single photo. I'm not even sure I can get genus.
