I passed this little street tree yesterday. I really liked the leaves and the ?catkins ?bracts. It looked to me like some kind of hornbeam. I am thinking this is a Carpinus japonica (Japanese Hornbeam). What do you think?

Pointy but not sharp or prickly.
Even better. I may not have even looked into Hornbeams if you hadn't posted this...this is what I would have missed out on. I love corrugated leaves. Thanks!
