i am in michigan , I was out trimming dead branches on her white snowball puff Bush not sure if that's the right name. Anyway all the leaves were eaten and it was hundreds of small black worms

These appear to be larvae of a leaf beetle such as the viburnum leaf beetle (see http://ohioline.osu.edu/sc195/013.html), but I would like to see a clearer close-up image of one to be certain...
