Aimee?

(Zone 8a)

Has anyone heard from Aimee last couple days...she was right in the path of the rain and tornadoes in Texas!!!

Hope she's okay!

Cheers,
Rebecca

Maybe you're not calling loud enough.
Aimee,O Aimee, AIMEE! you out there? You are being paged. Do let us all know if you're ok.

Well, thank you! Rebecca, I e-mailed you, will check to see that I sent it. It wasn't me the storm got, just the phone line, and I'm still trying to catch up. Plus, I went to the annual Christmas Affair in Austin with DD and Granddarling. Each year we have a picture taken with Santa under the huge tree, and right after that event last year was when I was diagnosed with cancer and life turned upside down. Suddenly that picture series was real special, especially since I'm not photogenic and so have always avoided cameras, and this year we were determined our tradition would be carried forward. And, great news that keeps me busy, my back porch is under construction. Despite 7 inches of rain, my friends were here today to dig the holes and set the posts, and I was making coffee and oozing encouragement. If the old porch was still on when the rains came, it would now be collapsed in a heap on top of my laundry appliances. Removed in the nick of time. Oh, I've also been on a bobcat driven by Laura, you know, and we've had some wild experiences. Catch up with us on our way to Graceland, just stick out your thumb and hop on if you dare. Laura seems to have a mental block about learning the brake, but she tries every button she sees. We're "helping" out our gardener friends all around the country, and eventually might end up at your place, but right now we're headed to see Shoe for Thanksgiving. Nice to know someone was concerned, it was quite a lightning display for two nights, and frog-strangling rains.

I got your email and was relieved to hear you are okay!

TTYL!

Rebecca, the tornadoes were just to the southeast and east of me, except for one due south in Austin. There were 7 confirmed in about 3 hours, but not all were destructive. I live just 9 miles south of Jarrell, where the entire town has been wiped out TWICE in recent memory. Friends' grandson and daughter were under their collapsed house, about a dozen personal friends lost, in the latest one just about 5 or 6 years ago. This time, one formed, headed for Jarrell, then turned at the last possible minute as I watched on TV live weather. I was already cleaning out the space I've always said was the safest in the house, when the furor died down and it was like it never happened. Needless to say, my puter was unplugged, and the only thing I lost was a guard light. And telephone service for about a day and a half. I always expect the microwave tower behind the house to take the brunt of the lightning. Is that reasonable?

Aimee,we'll just have to teach imaseedpicker the ole Texas yell>
Hooooooowwwwwwwwwwwdddddddyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!

CoCo, you're good! You could have scared Minnie Pearl right out of her bonnet, price tag and all.

(Zone 8a)

Thank God for that microwave tower or I might have lost you forever!!!

Yep... CoCo you really sounded like Minnnie and now I have to get an hearing aid!

Who said that? where are you? I can still see you know!

All jokes aside...I'm sorry about the past and am glad about the present!

Still going to get Winnebago and will show up on your doorstep one day soon, Aimee!

((((hugs))))
