CLOSED: Bugs that invaded after cedar elm pruning!

Keller, TX(Zone 8a)

We pruned our cedar elms back pretty severely and I am suddenly seeing these bugs everywhere on my front patio and in my flowerbed! Help identify please!

It is black, with all six legs on its thorax - and a band of yellow spikes (?) around the upper abdomen.

I have been trying to find it online with no luck :(

I am prepared to break out the dreaded Sevin just to get rid of them - my garden is about to explode with blooms, and I am not willing to lose out on my hard work!

Thank you for any help!
Michelle :)

Looks like a ladybug larva. These are beneficial insects. They will eat aphids a nuisance little soft-body bugs. In short a pretty looking bugs that help keep bad bugs population in check. I wish and looking forward to welcome them in my garden.

Yup. It's a larva of the Asian multi-colored lady beetle, Harmonia axyridis - http://ento.psu.edu/extension/factsheets/multicolored-asian-lady-beetle
