These little bugs have been invading our back patio in Riverside, Ca for the past 2 days. They come out in the afternoon, when the sun is hottest. They move fast almost like an ant on a mission. They are attracted to the concrete walls and are often found dead around the dogs water bowl. Any idea what we have here?

These are young nymphs of a true bug (order Hemiptera, suborder Heteroptera), possibly the false chinch bug, Nysius raphanus - http://www.ext.colostate.edu/pubs/insect/05603.html
