I have tomatoes in my home that I started from seed 2 months ago. They have traveled a bit with us to Oklahoma and here in northern Colorado. This week I noticed the bottom leaves on some were turning light green with discolored spots on the trunks. I have found this horny looking bug on one of the stems. Does anyone know what it is and how to treat them?

This is a nymph of a treehopper (family Membracidae). Most of these are not serious pests, but a few species can transmit viral diseases that attack members of the tomato family (Solanaceae).
