Hi, would you be able to tell me if the eastern redbud is prone to caterpillars? Does it need to be sprayed each year.

I've had redbuds in MD for decades and never needed to spray for caterpillars. I do have a little insect damage at times that I think is beetles. Not enough to bother spraying for.
