Out of all the butter nut I have planted and saved the seeds from, surprise. A squash I have never seen before. Cant find it in any seed co. But it is great eating. Now my huge compost pile has plants that have come up from a few squashes that did not make it to the table. Round, green, variegation with green strips and as big as basket balls. I have no clue. I did not think to take a photo of it sorry.
planted butter nut squash I got ?
Squashes are notoriously promiscuous. I bet your neighbor planted something in the melon family, and the bees brought in some pollen. Glad this one was yummy, often they aren't.
sounds like Cushaw stripes on a pumpkin shape, lucky!
