what are these? are they good or bad for a garden?

These are new to put yard this year and I have no idea what they are... Please help me identify them. Are they good or bad for a flower garden? If they're bad how do I get rid of them and keep them away?

That's kinda what I was thinking about the red and yellow ones but what about the grey ones with black and yellow spots? They're almost caterpillar like with�raised bumps on its back.

These are not the Asian multi-colored lady beetles (Harmonia axyridis), but appear to be in the genus Coccinella - see http://lincsbirder.zenfolio.com/img/s3/v8/p755829893-3.jpg for an example.
