These have been getting into the house this past week. These four photos are all of one bug, centimeter side of ruler is "up" left to right.
It is shaped like a ladybird beetle but tiny. Color is dark brown -scalloped? With cream/tan border. You can see its little wings peaking out in picture 3 & 4.
My main concern is what does it eat? Is it a furniture or carpet beetle?

Sure appear to be beetles in the family Dermestidae (carpet/hide/skin/larder beetles, etc.). The beetles themselves are harmless pollen feeders, but the larvae of some species can be quite destructive. See http://www.ipm.ucdavis.edu/PMG/PESTNOTES/pn7436.html for some control recommendations.
