I have tried to research this topic because i have seen people online selling "double coneflower seeds" and to my knowledge, they DO NOT PRODUCE SEEDS, so the flowers that will grow from seeds bought online WILL ALL COME UP PLAIN OLD PURPLE.
also, i have read double series ecinacea do not attract pollinators. I tried to think back to last summer and my "milkshake" coneflower (which is absolutely beautiful) but i dont remember any bees or hummingbirds hanging out near it.
any response and any opinion or fact on this subject will be happily accepted.
thank you for reading and HAPPY SPRING (although its snowing here in mass)

DO DOUBLE DECKER CONEFLOWERS PRODUCE SEEDS?
Generally speaking, hybrid plants may produce seeds, but they are not viable, and if they DO grow and bloom, they will most likely not resemble their parent plant. That's why seed saving is discouraged when you grow hybrids.
But Swallowtail is selling 'Double Decker' seeds, and they promise that a high percentage of them are double-blooms. They are a reputable seed seller: http://davesgarden.com/products/gwd/c/404/#b so this variety may be open-pollinated OR they are offering viable F1 hybrid seed.
I've raised 'Magnus' from purchased seeds before with good success :-)
