CLOSED: ARE THESE INSECT EGGS?

Lititz, PA(Zone 6b)

I was at the Home Depot last night and saw they had raspberry plants out for sale. Taking a look, I found these little round things on the stems of most. I smushed one in hand and it seemed greasy, not watery so I thought it'd be an insect egg and not a moisture droplet. Please let me know what you think.

Hey! If that's not water drops it sure looks disgusting...

Trust me when I tell you I have spent around an hour looking into this disease or eggs or whatever that is... And I haven't found anything like this. It resembles raspberry beetle eggs but I am not entirely sure about it. My advice is to contact pest control or gardeners like https://www.fantasticservices.com/insects/ or something similar for your area and deal with this as soon as possible.

And please do let us know what it was... Good luck!

I don't know, but my first impression was some of those moisture holding beads.

I'm not sure it was moisture beads because these were perfectly round and it looks like those in the link you included are with more squared edges.

Ok, a theory has been flown in my regional group that they are sap balls.

I'd buy that.

Ah, glad you figured it out. When I saw your photo, the beads came to mind, but you were right about the shape.

Yeah thanks for the attempt! I love learning new things about plants :)
