CLOSED: ID please, found in illinois household

Lake Zurich, IL

Greetings.

This insect was found in a home in Illinois. (today, spring :) )

I have done a lot of image searching and am having a hard time identifying it. I am guessing it is not full grown, so it is not lining up with many of the "bug index" sites that mostly focus on. Any ideas on what it is?

my amateur description:
I think I see 6 legs, but they seem more proportionate to there being 8 legs. The head seems brown, while the body is transparent / tan. Near the rear of the insect there is a dark section. I do not see much for antenna on the head. On the rear it looks like a hint of "pinchers" starting to show.

Any identification assistance woudl be helpful. :)

thanks

-Joe

This is a larva of a beetle, your images are not clear enough for me to be certain, but it might be in the family Melyridae, such as a scarlet malachite beetle (Malachius aeneus). These appear to be beneficial predators on other small insects - see http://somethingscrawlinginmyhair.com/2010/02/13/beetle-development/ for images and more information.

Thanks Flapdoodle. That set my mind at ease.
