Hi, I am working on a project that I hope to crowd fund soon. It's an app where you can post your surplus garden/tree produce or eggs or honey or the like and share them with folks using the app. I'd love to get some feedback on the idea and how to expose it more and potentially get more people looking at the crowdfunding campaign when it launches.

Thanks!

SpareCrop, crop sharing app
I think it's a good goal to reduce food waste.
I think it needs to be a paid app to help make sure everyone who participates is 'real' and honest. but have something free to get people to look at the app and a way that they can make sure you are for real.
I think it will help facilitate sharing between growers and users (including "soup kitchens") or vendors, maybe help those who sell at farmers markets add products to their booths while some who grow, but don't grow quite enough for marketing, have an outlet for some produce.
I am less optimistic about using this app between your average backyard gardeners because of the amount they will have, the shelf life of produce, and people not being willing to drive very far for fresh food. I guess organic produce will find people willing to drive farther.
Check out Craigslist/ freecycle - do people already use that to share extra crops?
Just thought I'd throw some thoughts at you.
