This one I call Grant's NOID as that's the name of the guy that sold it to me at the local farmers market last year.
He had another one for sale this morning and I threatened to buy it to "corner the market" but I purchased a $2 orchid from another stall.
Season has turned the corner and buds are fewer but still plenty. Still have a couple of first time bloomers with buds so looking forward to them.
Almost everything is now is 8 inch hanging baskets or 1 gallon pots. Just a few 6 inch pots left to look at. Most are "failure to thrive" from being cuttings March 2014 so will probably get discarded. Scary thing is now I have a large number of empty pots waiting new cuttings. MUST RESIST!
(That's strange - no box to select and image - will try again)
A new year begins
Count your blessings! I have lots of empty pots, but we're on watering restrictions. LOL!
A white noid - might be Snow Leopard, another NOID and Ramblin Rose
Looking forward to 4 Strictums tonite.
Another round of buds is starting to appear on some plants so July should be OK.
I keep records of how many blooms I've had on which varieties. I've already passed last years total for the whole year. Not quite obsessed enough to keep count of how many blooms on each plant. Too Many.
Getting some new growth on the cuttings you sent me last year, that's exciting. Someone just posted this link to my Facebook page and thought you'd enjoy the cactus blooms. Tried to find some time-lapse Epi flowers but didn't find any that are as cool as these Echinopsis.

Maybe you should buy a wildlife camera for your flowers . . . hint hint. Maybe I'll try to catch one of mine blooming, I think my wildlife camera has a time-lapse feature on it.
Two new varieties blooming for me this year.
Vista Sun and Wild Toucan.
(Vista Sun sure looks like the NOID I posted June 6th, maybe I have two)
One more new one to open up this weekend which will be "Hawaii". Based on last years records my season seems to be two or three weeks early this year.
They don't stop growing, that's for sure. Branches at stretching out with healthy tips and new shoots appearing. Curly locks seedling are no longer seedlings. Some are already growing over the edge of their pots.
Now thinking about October cutting potential. Looking for the strongest plants and bloomers. Will probably take a limited number of cutting from strong growers. Back in March 2014 I took cuttings from everything because I only had one plant of many varieties. Different situation now. New greenhouse space being cleared for another 10x20 structure this fall.
Just praying for a hurricane damage free year.
Hooray - the Fern Leaf Epi cuttings I received from Linda some months ago are finally showing some growth. I just did not know where to look on these strange leaves. Anyway 2 out of 3 are showing growth. Third one still looks healthy.
Must post a pic of Curly Locks. Amazing how fast they grow. Branches have now spilled over the edge of the pot by about 6 inches. New growth just keeps coming.
Just one or two blooms here and there now. Another flush of buds appearing on my Red NOID which should be good in early August.
Really slow conversation year so far. Where have all the growers gone. I switch back and forth between this and the other gardening site and see a lot of familiar names.
Will post a few last minutes pics from this year soon.
Yes, I've noticed that too. Say do you have a name for this sweet little yellow epi? It's the first to bloom of the cuttings I received from you. I didn't get massive bloom this year on my epi's. However I did recently get a bunch of the white "spidery" ones. I love that plant, it always has a bunch of blooms at one time.
I've been getting blooms on my stargazer lily and the other lillies too. What a weird weather year, I think these are plants that usually go off early Spring.
1. That's a small hanging pot, like 7".
2. Great little flower.
Take a look back at April 28th. Its Gold Charm.
Never said I wasn't old and forgetful.
I think this is German Empress - It has Deutchce Kai.... on the label. Real pretty small bloom. Just a couple this time but should look good next year.
Lots of Strictum buds coming. A surprise this late in the season. Also about 20 new Queen of the Night blooms.
The upload image box has disappeared again so will try again.
that's better, here's a close up.
Trying to decide if I will renew membership this year. No Epi forum on the other site but its free and picking up the pace. Like chatting with friends on this site. A lot more Epi knowledge.
Anyway, printed all my postings just in case. I know all those 700,000 Daves Garden "members" are not Subscribers. I checked out Hawaii and if there are 1000 members in the State I think only 2 pay. We shall see.
What other site are you thinking about moving to? I always seem to come back to Dave's Garden, I was originally a Gardenwebber. It's been slow on here this summer but I"m still getting enough response to my posts to make it worth my while. I've got tons of iris I'm trying to find homes for this fall and I've found some takers.
Dee
Hi Dee - All Things Plants - its run by the same Dave that started this one. Has some good features and some familiar members names crop up there that were here. A new Epi forum would probably get support. Its kind of fun earning "thumbs up" and "Acorn" rewards.
I've been there before, I joined as DomehomeDee. I go on internet quests for unusual plants/seeds so I end up finding some interesting places. Some on the other side of the world. I've made some interesting gardening friends.
Lots of have moved there.
