Im near Atlanta GA and found this in my bedroom. Please help me identify and suggest ways to be rid of them. Sprays, anything....i have a toddler i worry about getting bit and i am terrified of spiders. Thankfully my husband was home to capture this!!
I can't be certain of an i.d. because of the distortions caused by the glass container, but it appears to be in the family Agelenidae; possibly a Tegenaria sp. At any rate it is nothing that poses a threat to humans. Short of hermetically sealing your house, it is nearly impossible to keep occasional visitors like this from coming in, and use of any pesticide likely would be more dangerous for your toddler than anything this spider could do.
