I found this bug on my carpet the other day. (See attached photos) I live in Chicago. Can anyone tell me what kind of big it is?

It looks like what I call "silver-fish". They reproduce very quickly and can be very destructive. If you have just one or two, you can control them, but if you have or even think you have a large population of them, call a professional exterminator.
