Is it going to freeze?

Liberty Hill, TX(Zone 8a)

I'm shocked how we have gone from one extreme to the other. Nothing has had time to acclimate, including me. Lol My pumpkin vines look so healthy and the soil will hold the heat but the air above it won't. I thought these long cold spells were for Jan and Feb. this time of year we usually have a couple cool nights then back to beautiful temps. Bundle up everyone!

My marigolds and daylilies in ground made it through last night, but I'm not covering or holding much hope for tonight. I did cover the broccoli because it usually lives all winter.

Teens up here guys, cold. Snow for the deer hunters by Thanksgiving? Sunup in Allentown, Pa - sundown in Youngstown, Ohio and the snow flurry was just behind me. You guys are getting the shock treatment I think.

Well, the last 2 nights have been the coldest so far, even the dog's water in the kiddie pool froze. Lol My broccoli and cabbage plants look great and they weren't covered, unfortunately I can't say the same for anything else it the garden.

Fort Worth, TX

my broccoli did ok, I covered the biggest plants but all survived. Asparagus looking a bit rough, everything else is pretty much dead.

The one thing I noticed it didn't kill are the weeds or the grass that has over run my garden this year. Lol this is the first year that grass has been an issue, even in my raised beds. I'll I can figure is that the dirt I brought in last Spring wasnt composted at a hot enough temp. I won't be getting it from there again. Supposed to rain this weekend.

Its grass, like tree roots and willow esp, it will find a way to sling, blow, or crawl its way into a happy place. Am in Wis and temporarily out of lake effect snowy jetstreams. Stay warm guys.

This is Michigan, I think near Kalamazoo...

Everything is still frozen. The weather said possible winter mix Friday night but now it's been bumped up to to tomorrow morning. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

It's been freezing every night since October, but that's normal. What I wanted to say is that the in-valve on the washing machine froze last week...water dripping in the garage and an expensive fix. :( There's an electric heater wire wrapped around the pipe from the basement, so that didn't freeze. But the garage itself got cold for long time. Happy winter, y'all.

Oh my!! that is not fun. I hope your winter will not be too severe, ours this far has been colder than usual.

Liberty Hill, TX(Zone 8a)

I can't imagine the garage getting that cold. Our winter has been colder then usual and for many more days in a row, then I remember in recent winters. It is beautiful today and should be near 70 but back to the 50s by the end of the week.
