CLOSED: Lots of Flies that do not look like normal flies

Newcastle, Australia

Hi,
I hope someone can identify this fly as they are really annoying. Every day around 9am they start swarming around the deck edge (where the deck and the pillar foundations of the house meet, they also swarm around the guttering of the house)
They only come between 9am and 4pm, after this time they are no where to be seen. They fly a lot faster and with more rapid movements than a normal buzzy fly. They make no noise either. They almost look like an ant. They only come in Spring and Summer. They were no where to be seen in the cooler months.
They do not bite (thank god). I really want to get rid of them, I want to know what type of insect this is and what they are attracted to.
I sprayed all the pillars and sides of the decking and sides of the house yesterday but they are back today.
They only swarm around the back of the house where the house is on pillars and the side of the house.
Appreciate any insight!! Thanks

Not a fly, but a small bee, maybe one of the native stingless bees. These are very valuable pollinators - http://brisbanelocksmith.hubpages.com/hub/Stingless-Native-Bees

Thank you! Any idea how I can redirect them somewhere else? They buzz right where my little one plays on the deck ....

Just came across this interesting item: two closely related species of Australian stingless bees often stage mass warfare against each other...
