Hi everyone,
after finding some bug bites on my body, I installed a bug trap in my bedroom and the insect that landed in there is the one that you can find in the pictures. I'm not really sure if I have already found the culprit or whether this is just a random insect that found its way in there. Can someone help me to identify this insect?
If it hadn't been for the wings I would have guessed that it is some kind of flea.
If it is any help, I live in Hamburg (Germany).
Thank you in advance for the help.
Flealike insect with wings?
This appears to be a vinegar/pomace fly in the family Drosophilidae. These are common nuisance pests that have sponging mouthparts; they are incapable of inflicting any bite...
Oh thanks for the fast reply! That makes sense I compared it to other pictures on the net... I just hope it's some kind of gnat then, as I'm really not interested in having fleas... (I don't own an animal, so that should be highly unlikely... but you never know.)
