Dee,

Jen
They are edible type peas.
Dee, would you please mark some Lion's Tail for me, thanks.
Dee,
Ha! I thought that was maybe a brain cramp - are they tall sugar peas or short sugar peas?
Jen
HAVES
Pink Prairie Coneflower
Pink Cleome
Red/Orange/Yellow Tropical Milkweed (May be same as Dees- can omit if too much)
Orange Asclepias Tuberosa (the perennial native)
Purple Indian horsemint
WANTS
Any flowers attractive to butterflies/pollinators
Another HAVE I forgot
Orange cosmos
I think they are short, my daughter does the veges, I love flowers! My gardens are full of Monarch butterflies and bees. I'm in charge of feeding the pollinators and at least I'm trying to make vegetable gardeners out of my children, LOL. I just brought back some chinese long beans from my sisters, they won a prize at the county fair. They require a large trellis though, I have extra of them also, they have really long pods that are green or red.
All, for the folks identifying packages - what is the right amount for a package please? The seeds for the purple horsemint (monarda citriodora) are teeny, tiny - so I'm just wondering if it's easier for me to just put the itty bitty tupperware (labeled of course) in the robin. This is my first time, so I don't want to screw it up!!! So if there are unwritten Emily Post rules of seed trading beyond the ones already posted about putting year of harvest and common + botanical names please advise.
Many thanks - just want to be a good trader :) :)
Hi Memays - I've seen this variety and many other tiny seeds enclosed in bulk in a ziplock baggie, properly labeled.
I think a tupperware would take up too much space in the Robin.
Others welcome to offer opinions!
Thanks.
A.

Obliqua,
If you wouldn't mind marking one of those "Mardi Gras" Helenium for me, I'd appreciate it!
Jen
I will.
Judy
If anyone who will have the robin before it comes to florida has any edible pea pod seeds or early peas, I would appreciate about a dozen seeds. I thought I had packed them when we migrated this fall, but I have finally unpacked everything and didn't find them, so they must still be in my hoard of NY seeds back in NY. Thanks so much.
I harvested the canna seeds and have them drying. I'll include when I get the box.
I think I saw some sweet peas in there from Dee.

Susie, if you remind me in spring, I can try to take a dutchman's pipe cutting - I don't have seeds, but I've got three plants in the yard. Meredith.
Mem can you send me a dmail marked dutchman pipe
That way I can save into my trade file I want to try this vine
I Know It won't get huge for me & I will have to grow in a pot .
have always wanted to try one :) ty for the offer :)
amanda that would be great if you have a few to share I found the yellow/Orange ones this last spring but No red ones .
Ladies just let me know if i have anything you might like from my list .
I have the A. fimbriata which reseeds prolifically. The seeds need to be picked off to keep it from spreading. It is a small thing that can easily be kept in a pot or hanging basket. Roots easily also. If I can find any seed I will include in rr box. but be forewarned, it spreads by seed.
I'm after sunflower seeds. I like both the big singles and the multiple head ones. I just don't think I'm going to get many volunteers next year, the birds have been soooo hungry.
Dee These are of all sizes even the perennial one that comes back every yr red, yellows , whitish , one called ring of fire or something like that be happy to send you a baggie full just send me your addy . crystal love to try a few in a basket. LMK
Last fall I put some seeds in the Robin of my "Spanish Flag" (Ipomoea lobata).
I expected it to reseed, but nary a seedling appeared. Did anyone here retain any of that seed? Could you send a couple back to me if you have any? :D
xo

Thanks kiddo - it's almost balmy here in Greensboro today, what a difference a day or two can make in our crazy winters here.
Hope anyone way up north is staying warm and cozy. I love thinking about spring on days (when I have time!) with seven feet of snow piled up. NOT!!!
Blessings all for a safe, stress-free Thanksgiving week.
Peace.

I have a daughter who is in her last few weeks of Nursing School so this is a pretty stressful week as much as we would like it to be otherwise, it can't be helped. Finals are next week and it is going to be a really tough week. She has worked so hard to get this far, more than half the RN class that she started out with has either dropped out or failed to make the grade. I admire her determination to graduate. We are down to the wire here, fingers crossed that it all goes well.
Since I am watching her children ,it may take me a few days to finish the list above.
I know you understand what that is like, ,Amanda.
Awwww - yes I know my knuckles are still bare, Nanny. I will keep you and your daughter in my thoughts.
Maybe you more than anyone understands what a wreck my life has been the last year! Ha ha! Well, now trying to eek out a living in a non-profit world. My desk is still covered up, but I think (I have to hope!) that things are looking up.
Keep us posted. You have plenty of time to update your list. :)
A.
I certainly do understand! I have pretty much put everything on hold to get her through this last semester. And she is the one doing the hard part! It takes a village, so the saying goes. Unfortunately our "village" is quite small.
lol I told her when she gets a good job and builds her new house, not to forget to add a wing for me to move into when I retire. I was perfectly serious, too.
Crystal and Meredith.
First I would really LOVE a cutting of your Aristolochia vine in Spring.
Second, I have fresh Aristolochia fimbriata seeds that I just received from a trade. Anyone wanting some just ask and I'll either send it in the Robin or mail it separate.
Any advice on germination would be appreciated. I'm really excited about getting this one started in my butterfly garden!
Seed for A. fimbriata is all you need. It germinates in the standard fashion very readily. That's why it is trying to become a problem for me. It has such a unusual flower and watermelon seed pot and upside down umbrella open seed pod that it is worth growing.
Dee Just sent out your seeds yesterday & A few extra Pks of see's to add to the robin if there is room.
Aristolochia fimbriata : I will try any of these type if anyone has extra .I would like to make up a few Hanging baskets.
Meant to ask Would it best to Plant the seeds right away or wait till spring ?
Dee,
Would you set aside a seed or two of Aristolochia fimbriata for me, in the robin?
I would love to try it in a pot, since it is zone 7. Thanks.
Judy
Susie and Judy,
I have your baggies of A. fimbriata in my bag to go into the Robin!
I'm tempted to put some in hanging baskets myself, although I got them for a ground cover in the butterfly "host" garden.
