TARogers and guest Gwen Wilcox

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

That list looks good, Josephine Frank and Brian plan to be there.
Thank you for the thread Anna.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Should I buy name tags or do we have them?

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Sheila usually makes the name tags, let us wait to hear from her.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I have the name tags covered, but thanks Anna. I also have the disc with numbers that we use for the door prize drawing and the sign in sheet. Frank and Josephine always have the change bag which helps.
Ann will you please add Herman if you would, he says he hopes to be there. I haven't had personal pictures in a very long time, sure hope he makes it and feels up to taking pictures.

Fort Worth, TX

I suspect I will be bringing Clifford the Big Red Dog who has fairly severe separation anxiety issues. He is very sweet, very large and well mannered as long as not left alone. I did say very large. yes. Some kind of dane/hound mix that got in a jam.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Thanks Sheila. Got the guests!

Magnolia, TX(Zone 8b)

Add my cousin, Karon & Glenn, our friend that has come b4!
:~)

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Got it!

Dallas, TX

I will be bringing a guest. Her name is Cynthia Alderson.

Fort Worth, TX

I will not be bringing a giant dog but may have a grandchild or 2. Definite improvement

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Haha!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Gypsi did you make a trade? LOL!

Fort Worth, TX

Actually I did. the 100 lb dog's separation anxiety was too extreme for me to handle by myself with my house and people count so I returned him (and networked and got him hooked up with a rescue that can help him.) And I picked up the 36 lb dog I was originally supposed to adopt on my way home before he got eu'd, he is doing fine and doesn't have separation anxiety.

And tomorrow I am picking up an unknown quantity of grandchildren, something between 1 and 3, who will help me pot plants catch fish and train the pup as well as walk the old dogs. It is all good.

complicated week, lol

(Becky), Lipan, TX(Zone 7b)

That's funny! Glad you have some help Gypsi :)

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Should we donate $6 each to cover the cost of the pavillion?

Dallas, TX

That's not a bad idea. I had been planning to kick in an extra $5 and might do that anyway. It's $100, right? And just counting members, assuming everyone shows up, that would be at 16 members @ $5 each = to $80. But if my arithmetic is correct, and sticking with the attendance assumption, @ $6 each = $96. So if my assumptions and arithmetic are correct, we still need $4. Thus if I give $10 as planned and everyone else kicks in $6 each, that brings us to $100. But that's just using my assumptions, arithmetic, and agreement from all as to $6 instead of $5.

That's my logic and I'm sticking to it. For now. :D

(Becky), Lipan, TX(Zone 7b)

That sounds like a good idea, if we are missing anyone tmrw and come up short, I can do $10 also :)

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

My dad can't make it but my wife and daughter may be joining me instead.

Dallas, TX

My guest, Cynthia, had something come up and won't be able to make it. Please scratch her off the list.

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

I will contribute $10. It's the very least I can do, since I always have to leave early and so can't help with clean up. And I'm not bringing but a (one) handful of plants to give. :-( It's been a weird year in the flowerbeds this year.

Carla
aka Loonie1

Mesquite, TX

Sorry to say that I'm not going to be able to make it today. Got back late yesterday from a group tour to Gaitlinburg TN and all those hours riding on the bus have got my lower back in a monster kink...
Steve

Fort Worth, TX

Let me know if you are short, I could not set up nor stay to help clean up really. I could send another 5. (didn't see we were short until now)

It was good to see everyone today!

Gonna enjoy that hanging plant stand!

Dallas, TX

I'm home and exhausted but had a great time and hope it was a good time for all. Although she might not want me to say this, Josephine is usually left to cover any shortage when paying for the Pavilion. So for many reasons, we are all in her debt.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, thank you everyone, but today we actually came out a little over, so no reason to worry.
We had a great time too, getting to see all of you guys from far and near, sharing plants and friendship.
The food was great as usual, and it was as wonderful day.

I hope Stephanie, Roxcrew and Baja Blue are O.K. they didn't make it and we worried about them.

Your friend,
Josephine.

Kingston, OK(Zone 7a)

Home and 8:05 PM
Had a great day and was wonderful to get to see every one again.
Gwen had a wonderful time also and wants to do it again next year.
I found my billfold at home sure enough I put it in the wash with my pants I changed from. LOL
Glad I had Gwen so now I have to pay her back.
Will sort it all out tomorrow and back to work in the plant room.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

What a lovely group of people! Hope everyone got home safely.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Glad you guys arrived safe and sound Ted. Gwen was a delight and so glad you have a companion that loves gardening.

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

I just finished planting my acquisitions plus some extra stuff that I picked up at the Texas Discovery Gardens plant sale yesterday. Everything found a home!

Fort Worth, TX

I just got everything stuffed in my greenhouse last night, as the odds of it freezing here were just too high...and I got last year's ginger tree from Marty in, and the flame vine I was told wasn't hardy. Both will need bigger pots next year but they did ok.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, I just got my pictures off the camera and in the computer, i will try to post the today.

Dallas, TX

Dennis - I purposely avoided the sale at the Discovery Gardens b/c I didn't trust myself. Was there a lot of good stuff there?

I haven't planted everything as I was interrupted by rain. And that's ok.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I had my son help move the larger pots from the house deck down to the shop deck. That way I can run them inside next weekend. The tropical in pots may go in the shop before then. They are saying a
Blue Northern is due here Tuesday the 11th.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh Boy, I hope not because I am not ready for it.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Well we all know it is a 50/50 when someone forcasts the weather. This slow rain was nice, but not when I am trying to save some seeds.

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

It is a really nice sale. Lots of very unusual natives. My most unusual purchase was a texabama croton.

Dallas, TX

A texabama croton? I'm going to have to look that one up. Just did and I like it. Doesn't look like the crotons that I'm familiar with. But I love the description that says it's evergreen. And deciduous.

Not sure if anyone's interested and if they are, I'm not sure I could link to it. But recently got an email about upcoming N Central TX weather. What I especially liked about it was that it had some definitions that distinguished terminology like 'light frost' and 'frost' and 'light freeze', etc.

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

I hope the upcoming N Central TX weather includes more rain! What happened to the El Nino they were forecasting??

Carla

Fort Worth, TX
