Hello!
I am hoping someone here will be able to help me, I have scoured my Houseplant books and the web and have come up empty!
I have a Fiddle Leaf Fig in my kitchen and he is happy (I think :)). We saw a good amount of new growth this year...BUT I noticed that a few of the leaves have these strange...growths on the veins...I tried to scrape one off, but it really seems like it is growing out of the leaf, it is pretty attached. Are these normal or is there some very strange pest/disease going on?
Thanks in advance for any help/insight!

Fiddle Leaf Fig - Growth on Leaf Veins?
I don't think it is any sort of growth, disease, or pest. It looks to me like that leaf (leaves) might have gotten folded somehow and the result is the scars on the veins.
If you don't already do it, you might want to take a soft, moist towel and gently wipe those leaves every so often. Growing indoors, dust and soot settles on these large leaves.

I agree - mechanical damage.
