This thing was flying around our office and we thought it was a bumblebee at first. Upon further examination it seems to be a fly of some sort. I don't really know. I have asked several people and nobody has ever seen anything like it. Any help would be great.

It's in the family Tachinidae, all of which are parasitic on other arthropods - see http://www.pbase.com/tmurray74/image/146027875 for an example.
Hey thanks, thought maybe it was an undiscovered species :P. Can't be all that common at least in my area because nobody I asked had ever seen it before. Thanks for the help!
