Callisia fragrans:Fung, Bact, soil or what on leaves?

Lorena, TX(Zone 8b)

I bought my Callisia fragrans last Sat and have left it outside and done nothing to it except water it since then. I DID, however, water all of it, at one time....from over head. I am thinking now that I have read more here on DG that I should not have done that!

After looking at tons of pictures of brown spots on leaves, I still don't know if this plant has fungal leaf spot, a bacterial problem, bad or no soil or if I harmed it by watering from above and left it too wet! Also, when I saw some of the spots, I used a mild solution of Dawn + rain water and sprayed that on the leaves!

I want to break the plant up into several hanging baskets and bring some inside but I am afraid to until I know this is not something that might spread to my other plants!

I am hoping someone here can help me and I can learn what to look for if and when I see this again.

Thank you... in advance for any help!

Hmmm, while I am asking.......just where do I cut the stem or baby, for propagation?

I have something similar but I have small circular spots on older leaves. I think mine may be cultural since one of the growing tips broke off and I put it in another pot and it has matured with no spotting at all. Try taking a tip with no damage and plant in another pot to see if this clears it up for you.

I wonder how the plant survives in the wild if you aren't supposed to water from above. I guess it doesn't rain where it originates.
