Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks Eyes.....It was fun until picture taking time. :-)

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

Absolutely beautiful; way to go, Brugie and Snow. Judges you did a great job. Those have to be the most beautiful I have seen.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Thanks Eyes and Roz. Yep, Brugie and I were in a picture taking dilemma.Almost had to hire outside help. Hehehe

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Snow, I think about the fun we had with that, often. It was a good experience, entering the contest, and I hope all the new people will get involved this next year if there is another one. Bet there will be.

Thanks Roz, guess I just got lucky last year with my brugs. Might be a whole different story this year. Never know when living in Iowa. Storms, winds, bugs, YUCK!!

Mukwonago, WI(Zone 5a)

Snow..I saw your winning pix for the pinwheel Datura just a few min. ago..It is Absolutely Georgeous!!!!
I have a Datura with the same coloring but definitely not that pinwheel shape.
Do all the blossoms look like that? My next question: How or where can I get seeds for it? OOOOhh I just know that I've got to grow some of those beauties this year.

Thank You for that lovely picture. It looks like a true labor of love; and sure has brightened this cold gray day in Wisconsin.

It's good to see them one more time!! Makes me want spring to hurry up and get here. Those are lovely!!

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

You're right Cala, it is great to look at them again, was wondering if I should print them and hang by my computer, since I doubt my brugs will ever look like that I could have a photo of them.

You gals did a great job growing them, and an even better job photographing them.

that datura sure is something isnt it? perfection!!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Brugie and Snow they are stunning indeed.

Pebble instead of printing them why not just use the picture as wallpaper for your computer. I save pictures all the time and change my desktop every few days. It is so pleasant to see a beautiful picture on the computer monitor when I am not using it.

Spicewood, TX(Zone 8b)

Oh, man! These are just gorgeous! Just GORGEOUS!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

You two are celebrities!!

Great pictures, Snow and Brugie.

That is one pretty brug, Shirley.

Glad you both won.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Thanks everyone. The contest was certainly a lot of fun and hope you will all join in this year if we have another contest.
Ruby Tuesday,The Datura was a double purple one. I had several growing and that was the only one that opened so perfectly. I just caught it at the right time.I bought my seeds from Thompson&Morgan but also received some in a trade so not sure which it was.Didn't get any seeds from it as frost hit them before the pods were mature.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

You all are so nice. I thought this thread was dead and burried. So here I am again, but now I've got new thoughts in my head, all about what I'm going to do next summer. With about six inches of snow on the ground, thinking about growing things outside doesn't seem like it will happen here anytime soon, but it is nearly the first of February, so I'm sure winter will end soon and I can work on my dreams. Thanks again for your nice comments. Like Snow said, it was fun, but now we need to work on growing some different and gorgeous brugs for the next contest. Someone else will have their picture taken as the winner next year and see how stressful, but fun, it can be. :-)

Hamilton, Canada

Congrats Snowhermit and Brugie!! Wow I'm drooling over those beauties. When mine grow up I want my brugs and daturas to look just like the ones in the pictures.

I want spring to come and we just got our first real snowfall.

Joydie

P.S. maybe I should go dig out my datura seeds and start some of them now, ya think I'm pushin it a lil bit?

Brooksville, ME(Zone 5a)

can anyone tell me what are the blue flowers growing in the base of the pot brugie used for her Dr. Seuss picture.
