Hello,
I've had plenty of spiders in my home but I have never seen this one before.
I have a 5 year old running around which has me concerned about it being a brown recluse.
This was the best picture I was able to get.

This is a funnel weaver in the family Agelenidae, either a barn funnel weaver - see http://www.spiders.us/species/tegenaria-domestica/#more_pictures or a giant house spider - see http://www.spiders.us/species/eratigena-atrica/
Neither is dangerous to humans. The range of the brown recluse is very distant from your area - see http://www2.ca.uky.edu/entomology/entfacts/ef631.asp
