This is a plant we have in the plant files, but I am not sure most of the photos of this plant or correct. I understand this tree can have thick, knobby spines, particularly when young, but not ever seen a reliable photo of this tree with a green trunk and super sharp spines, as in the photo below. I am worried these are Ceibia speciosa, a plant I think may often be misidentified (particularly when not in flower) with Bombax ceiba.
