Let us talk about the Fall R.U.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Thank you Sandy.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

The link that Baja added isn't for the upcoming North Texas RU in October only, am I correct? It is for an ongoing offering for any RU right?
I think we will still have to start a plant list on a trade thread for this RU.
It is a great place to let others know what they might pick up at a RU near them.

******Folks who have never come to one of our DG Round Ups, you must come!!! It is a crazy day where you can eat a lot of wonderful food, converse with people from all over Texas and beyond! Get and give that special plant or a lot of traded plants (no money needed), and relax and laugh & have another dessert, with the door prize drawing. Not to mention the hugs, and seeing face to face, friends you met online!******

Rancho Santa Rita, TX(Zone 8a)

The lists cant be started too soon ! < wink, wink, hint, hint

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes to all the Sheila said, and I must say that I have met some of the nicest and most generous people at Dave's Garden as well.

Rancho Santa Rita, TX(Zone 8a)

I third that emotion !

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

I am going to say I may not be attending as there is a huge craft sale where my friend is living temp in Louisiana and I have made 100 glass flower plates to sell and as of now it is in the air as she has nothing to sell and may not have time. I am coming to the RU if this doesn't work out and will have to find another outlet for my things.

Just want to give you all a heads up.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Thank you for letting us know Sandy, I hope you make it to the R.U.

Kingston, OK(Zone 7a)

Will be there with a guest. Either day will do.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Thank you Ted.

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

I haven't been able to figure out a way to keep the chat on the request for future RU's to a minimum but I am working on it. You are right it isn't a place for trades but a place for adding things you have access to in between each RU. Let me go now and see what I can do.

I posted to the thread but would like you all to read the top post as I added it all there also and a couple more things. Would like your thought and suggestions over there. That will be helpful and not considered chatting :)

Kingston, OK(Zone 7a)

We need a thread dedicated to this round up name for plant swaps.
A separate thread for each function
Close this one when the date is set and start a new one with links to the others.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I will get the trade thread up early next week since I'll have more time to devote to the computer.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Very good Stephanie, thank you very much.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

One or two things. The door prize organizer will need the sign in sheet in case of confusion (lost name tag etc.), and also tell those that are new where to place their prizes when they unload.
We do need someone to Organize the food as it is dropped off and then uncover dishes prior to chow time.
Then speaking of dishes we need to make sure you take home your dish, toss leftovers or give them away. Seems Josephine and Frank always get stuck with clean up time.

(Becky), Lipan, TX(Zone 7b)

I can do all things food: start a thread, arrange and prep dishes, and cleanup afterward. This weekend is a busy one, but same as Steph, I can start a thread next week :)

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Thank you Becky, very much appreciated, you get the Food.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Whoopi, love getting helpers involved! Frostweed especially is involved in so many things and it wears a body out sometimes in our heat. She and Frank are indispensable!
Thank you Becky & Stephanie!

Fort Worth, TX

Sunday the 26th is excellent, thank you.

(changed computers lost password, lost uncle, dog had aggressive mast cell but fortunately may have caught early enough, and I still have a queen bee in my pocket. Back to the hives...)

Gypsi

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Wow, Gypsi! That's a lot to handle. Sorry for the loss of your uncle. Glad you're back.

Fort Worth, TX

Thank you Stephanie, for your kind note. I'm glad I got the queen bee out of my pocket and in her hive, and hopefully she will get accepted. doing a fall split to prevent a swarm leaving with my best queen, Hope I didn't accidentally injure or kill my best queen getting her back in the hive. will check in the morning...

My garden is alive. and I saw one, just one spider lily coming up to maybe bloom, out of all the ones I planted. so hopefully I will see that bloom. Lost a lot of plants this year, kept some alive. Need to be grateful for the survivors...

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Good to hear from you Gypsi, I am sorry you had those problems too, I hope things will get better for you.

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

I will be there as my friend did not get us a booth. But that is OK with me as I really want to be there with you all. :)

Mesquite, TX

I'll be there again and help with whatever as needed. Probably not much to bring from my house but what the heck, mingling with all the peeps alone is worth the trip from Mesquite.
Steve

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Thank you Steve, it will be good to see you, and as you said that's what it's all about.

Fort Worth, TX

I've had so many plants die on me I would rather give than receive this year, if I have anything to give that anyone wants. I have had fair luck with the plants from last year's roundups that became established last winter, and the ones in pots for the most part, but if I put it in the ground anywhere but right next to the foundation, I lost it. I will make a list of seeds that I have and small plants I can pot in a few days, work has just gotten very busy.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Do you need help with anything? I can do attendance and/or door prize

Magnolia, TX(Zone 8b)

Attending: Smockette & Momma Doris
Maybe more...

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

I think attendance would be good Anna, thank you very much.

Fort Worth, TX

Attending unless I am too depressed about gardening. Will have to see. I am not much fun these days.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Tell me when I should be there and my duties.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Should I start an attendance thread?
