I found this bug crawling across the floor of my bedroom. The time was just before midnight and the temperature is a sultry 75 F. I live in Brooklyn where bugs are common but I would like to know if this is either a German Cockroach or a bed bug. I check my bed every week and I haven't seen any eggs or bugs. Sorry I squished this poor guy which may be why his body just stops at the bottom. Oh yeah, the thing was so small - about a 4th of a pennies diameter. Thanks!
Looks like a nymph of a German cockroach. If so, there will be others...
Thanks Flapdoodle. I had an exterminator spray about 2 weeks ago. Do you think this guy lives here or was carried in? I don't see them much - maybe once or twice a month and Ive never seen more than one at a time.
These roaches are very mobile as well as good 'hitchhikers' on/in various objects. This makes complete control extremely difficult in apartment complexes and the like...
