Is this some kind of army worm, or something else? Thanks
CLOSED: Some kind of army worm?
Not an army worm, but in the same family - Noctuidae. I suspect that it is an alternate woodling (Egira alternans - see http://www.pbase.com/tmurray74/image/114329233), but the caterpillars of the subdued Quaker (Orthosia revicta) and the white-dotted groundling moth (Condica videns) can be very similar in appearance - see http://mothphotographersgroup.msstate.edu/Files1/Live/CCC/CNC10490-cat-300.jpg and http://mothphotographersgroup.msstate.edu/Files1/Live/SeAu/SeAu9690-cat-300.jpg, respectively...
Thank you once again for your help and guidance!
