Never thought id really have to ever spell that-We had a 10th grade girl that just passed away from this...we are having a meeting at the school at 7:00pm. Oh this is so terrible for her family and the school.
I hope there are no other cases that develop!
prayers for "Western High" and all the families!

Dori, there was a death over the weekend in New Orleans from the same thing. It was a college co-ed. She was 19 years old.

Kathleen, the girl who died here had been vaccinated 2 years ago. She caught the one she had not been vaccinated against. Louisa, over the past 2 years there have been a handful of deaths here in LA. (all students) who have died from it. It is now mandatory that the students in the Universities take the vaccines b4 entering.

So sorry to hear about the bacterial mennongitis coming up. We have had more than our share of it in the past. The CDC came down here and were running tests...all young people were vaccinated. They wouldnt let some of us older ones get vaccinated though. That was a scary thing. We wondered if it had something to do with the water. Of course we were told it wasnt. There seemed to be no connections to people getting it. Every year it seems we still get a case or two. Nothing like the scare a few years ago. I took both of my kids and had them vaccinated. Ive never seen mass vaccinations like that. Guess we will be doing smallpox vaccinations like that again if they ever get enough serum made up. It would be the smart thing to do.
