a visit with tiG

Had a wonderful visit this morning at tiGs. We got a package ready and in the mail to Mark. Thanks tiG for your help. You are the sweetest person (well second sweetest) I know. We had a discussion about seeds and how to plant. She says she uses coffee filters to save seeds in. On the way home I got to thinking several years ago I cut newspaper in 1 inch strips and pasted seeds to one side with flour paste. I don't know why I quit doing this but it fell to the wayside for some reason. I got to thinking(I know that is dangerous for me) what would happen if you took seeds and used flour paste and glued it to a coffee filter. You could plant a round circle of a small White flower and then next to it a round circle of pink or any color that you wanted there. My question to all you experts is would this work? Seems it would be a good way to keep all plants the same size in a controlled area. Jim

Jim

Newspaper breaks down much faster than coffee filters.

Tim thanks, My wife said the same thing before I posted. I guess I'll have to tell her she finally got something right. Well maybe not in those exact words. More like 'Darling you were right again.' I guess I could cut circles out of the newpaper and give it a try. I got a way from growing from seeds and I am just now getting back into it. Maybe something I could get the grandkids to do. Give them some to take home and plant also. I'll give it a try.

I think you've come up with a great idea. The flowers would grow in a nice uniform round pattern. I just may try it next year in my garden. Thanks for sharing the idea.

You can just cut the newpaper in circles. It sounds like a winner to me. I am always looking for a easier way.

I am honored to be among so much "Genius". Now, why didn't I think of that?...It's usually us lazy people that come up with the works "short cuts". Jo
