Hi Can anyone tell me if Locoweed grows sort of tangled? we have a weed up here in Canada that looks like Locoweed but it grows like plant cover and gets so tangled it can trip you ,I am wondering if this is Locoweed ?
LOCOWEED !
That depends what you mean by locoweed... this common name is used for both Oxytropis (which are shorter upright plants, not tangled) and for Astragalus, some of which might possibly fit the bill, but I really doubt it. There are some introduced Astragaus - weeds - but no introduced Oxytropis that I can think of offhand. There are many native species of both though. It's unlikely either would show up in such density as to be thought of as a weed or to trip anyone.
Could you actually describe the plant - what colour are the flowers? What do they look like? When does it bloom? What shape are the leaves?
Better yet, could you post some pictures of the whole plant and close-ups of leaves and flowers?
