My Dawn Redwood needles are getting brown spots and turning brown at their bases. What might cause this and how do I treat it? The tree is about 20 feet tall. I have another Dawn Redwood about 100 yards away that does not have any browning.

Hmm...my first thought was Japanese Beetle damage but that looks like something different. I'm not sure what it is but am interested to hear what someone comes up with.
