Monrovia is promoting this Oriental Spruce cultivar as being hardy to z2. I've only tried 'Skylands', which died to about 6" below the snow line this past winter. Is there evidence to support this one is super cold hardy?

No. I'd rate it zone 5. I wonder if it is a typo on the info details.

That is a good question. I was hoping this one was selected from some outlier population with exceptional cold hardiness. No such luck. It is likely a mistake, but it would also be interesting to know what other trees/shrubs they grow that have a similar "typo." I am not saying there are any, but I can see how a wholesaler might want to fudge a bit on such things. This is a bit more than fudging...
