Any clues as to what might be happening to this freeman maniple would be helpful. Within two weeks of the first (healthy looking) picture the leaves were spotted and are now falling off. I'm in SW Ontario and there has been plenty of rain. Which leads to me thinking it is being overwatered. But can a one year old tree get too much water?
Yeah, I'm thinking too much water. My acer rubrum gets like that when we have a wet spring, minus the leaf loss.
