I stuffed this branch in my pocket while jogging. It was attached to what looked like a Beech Tree in a yard. This is not the kind in my back yard growing wild! lol.
All I could get were the leaves, sorry. Any idea what this is?

Not a Beech (Fagus sp.)...
I think you plucked those leaves off of a Hornbeam (Carpinus sp.) - though clearer focus on the pics would help, as would details of the buds.
I know it is too late to cluck about images of the whole tree...

Wouldn't argue with that, and didn't wish to strenuously dispute the Beech comparison...
This tree is indeed a zelkova. It's leaves were so much darker than what I've used to seeing it through me, but it had the characteristic trunk shape and orange/pink flaking. Very smooth bark though, which had me thinking beech. I took a few pics I'll post in a while.
Beech bark doesn't flake - at least for the first hundred years or so...
