Hi there!
So a few things, I successfully convinced my husband to build me a large raised bed. I purchased high quality soil from a local landscaping company and was planting by end of May. I planted all my toms (which I started under grow lights mid March) which are doing awesome. I planted seeds for my cucs, and of all different varieties. I know the spacing should be about 12 inches apart - but I'm stubborn and did them about 4 inches apart. (they are being trained up a trellis, and the row is about 20 feet). I have some plants starting to slower and growing vigorously, others quite a bit behind. I had planted seeds in large containers as well with about 75% black earth 25% rotted manure. The ones in the containers are massive vs. my garden. Should I be fertilizing regularly with my 18-18-21 miracle grow? I've read mixed reviews on it being too strong even though it is specifically for veggies. I want produce NOT foliage :)
Questions
1. Should I think about thinning out my cucs even though they look healthy?
2. Why are my cucumbers in the containers thriving compared to my raised garden?
PLEASE, someone, I would love advice on any tips I can do to drive my cucs to thrive.
