I know bees collect pollen on their body and then put it into "leg bags" - corbiculae but I have never seen anything like this before, surely it must be pollen? Non of the other bees looked anything like this, just a few sprinkles on body and legs. Anyone like to comment?

This is a leaf-cutter bee in the family Megachilidae - they collect pollen on the hairs on the underside of their abdomen rather than on their legs...
Lightning bug honeybee!
Bees make honeycomb from glands on their abdomen- am not where I can find support pix, but could that bee what you are seeing?
Thanks Flapdoodle for ID and explanation. Thanks also Kittriana for your response.
