Red/orange ant-like winged insects in Dominican Republic

San Juan, Dominican Republic

I'm staying at a friend's apartment in the Northern part of the Dominican Republic. I've noticed an infestation of ant-like insects in the apartment. Here is a description of their appearance and behavior:
-they gravitate towards any food that is left in the open. Takes them only a couple of dozen minutes to swarm over any unattended food. Even after I remove a food source, they are crawling back and forth to the area where that food used to be.
-they appear very coordinated, and form a line from their origin to a food source, and back.
-their origin appears to be a loose wooden panel on the floor.
-they are reddish-orange, appear to have wings extending from the second half of the torso (hard to tell, since they are so small), are very narrow, and are about a millimeter in length.

The images are not clear enough for identification purposes, but their behavior is very ant-like, and I have seen reports from your area of people having problems with very tiny ants. See http://www.sxmwildlife.com/ghost-ants/ for an example.

Thank you for the link! Yes, it does appear that they may be something like ghost ants or pharaoh ants. Apologies for the quality of the pic. I'll try to post a better pic soon, to see if we can be more certain with the id, although the ones I posted may be the best I can do with the equipment that I currently have at my disposal. Thanks!

Here are some more images. These are probably the best I can do, given the camera I'm using.
