I am on a little vacation, and while in the wooded part of where I am staying, I found these gall like things on the leaves. I was just wondering what might have made them. I am thinking an insect, which is why I am posting on the bugID bit. I haven't cut any open yet since I am not sure what (if anything) might come out.
Any help would really be appreciated. This is in Calgary Alberta if that helps
Thank you very much
I'll post pictures when I can

All but the middle image are indeed galls, which as you likely already know can be caused by many different arthropods, including wasps, flies, phylloxerans, mites, etc. See https://insects.tamu.edu/extension/publications/epubs/e-397.cfm
The middle image is he protective cover of a nymph of a froghopper (spittlebug) - http://gardening.about.com/od/insectpestid/a/Spittlebugs.htm
Thank you so much Flapdoodle!
