We saw this little guy at night, along with a different looking insect. The night previous we saw what we thought was a beetle and put him outside, but now we're worried we have cockroaches, even though our apartment is very clean. Please help us ID these bugs.

This is another bug we found. It doesn't look anything like the first, but they were together, like they were partners in crime.

Both are predators; the first images are of an assassin bug known as the masked hunter (http://ento.psu.edu/extension/factsheets/masked-hunter); the others are of a ground beetle - these often wander indoors while hunting for prey.
