LOL Sally! I think my yard should be Clover Canyon, Morning Glory Moor, or maybe Sparrow Saloon? ;-)
Your Neck Of the Woods part11 Independance Day
Beautiful photos SSG! The pond with the path running alongside seems to be a natural pond; i.e. excavated but not lined with concrete. Are they all "dirt" ponds?
My cat and I pulled grass from the groundcover in my rock garden. Well, actually he ate grass while I pulled it. Usually I make him stay in his tent, but sometimes I put him on harness and leash so he can eat grass.
For anyone who wants their cats to be outside but not running loose, this tent is awesome!

Are we all naming our yards now??? I would have NO idea....
Sally--"Addy's Acre"...
Ric--You started this......
Critter's Crazy Corner?
Jill's Jumble?
Jills Jungle?
Gita I was only joking about how many weeds I have been pulling
Jill's Jumble/Jungle--I like that! :-)
Jill--
"Garden of Joy"
Gita, yours could definitely be called "Gita's Glory" =)
'Gita's Glory'--very nice!
Muddy, yes all the paths were natural. It's a peaceful place but rather small and not showy.
SSG, Not near as spry as yesterday. My knee is really feeling it from all those trips up and down the ladder yesterday.
So Jen Swam, Biked and Run her first Triathlon this morning. You would think she would go home and take it easy for the rest of the day but no she and family are hosting a neighborhood party at their place so that the neighbors get to know each other. LOL
I was up there bright and early to watch her and probably walked 3 miles going from the water start to the transition area and then the finish line. Then a bit of shopping. Ric moved the two big pieces of furniture that I needed moved so there is no reason (other than I am beat) that I can't get to the walls to wash and paint them. I did stop at the house on the way home from shopping and picked up the next gallon of paint.
wow Holly, it sounds like Jen has as much energy as you! :-)
LOL I think Jen has more energy than when I was her age.
Sounds to me like it runs in the family! :-)
Jen's basically got the summer off her 5&40 job. Her main job for the summer is a couple of post grad classes and full time mommy. It's a bit easier to have energy when not dragging around a 40 hour anchor, like Holly did.
I hear you, Ric, having been a single mom for 12 years! Hard to juggle work and parenting, especially when they're little!

Jen totally ROCKS! Congratulations to her. I'd say she has some crazy-good inspiration when it comes to setting tough goals for herself.
Gita, I like "Garden of Joy." :-) Also "Jill's Jungle" (of weeds LOL). Jungle of Joy?
So today is another painting day. I just finished the two end walls. Ric did the edging that I can't reach. That will leave the other long wall, that is the one with all the glass (12 ft) floor to almost ceiling. That wall might take longer than it should because of all small spaces and the kitchen not too much wall there either but the same small space issue. Can't take a big roller to it. Have to work with smaller painting tools.
Holly, looking forward to seeing it all at the swap! :-)
very pretty!
Wow those are lovely Holly! Almost seems sacrilege stepping on them, huh? I'm really looking forward to making mine at the Swap, but I just know I'm gonna feel guilty actually using it to step on. =/
Those are real treasures!
Wonderful!!!!!
We left Oregon on Tuesday and should be at our son's house north of Houston tomorrow. We have found a new favorite national park...Capital Reef in Torrey, Utah. An oasis in the midst of a desert. Looking forward to going sometime in September or October. Our grandy loved it. A LITTLE hot though. We have been driving on Interstate 40 yesterday and today. Don't like interstate driving, but we need to make up some time. Looking forward to kissing two little grandies tomorrow.
Just a couple of shots. The red rocks were in Capital Reef. The other shots were of a 'road' we were on and a pic of the road at the bottom and then looking back at the escarpment. Hard to believe a ROAD actually went up that. Oh and a pic of Goosenecks state park.
Sorry the others aren't loading.
Tonight's spot is an RV parking lot behind a Quality Inn in Childress, Texas. Not our ideal, but, it's off the road and has electricity to run the AC. AACCKKK!!! It's was 99 when we pulled in at 7pm. At least they had wifi.

Sounds like you are having fun seeing those grandys! :-)
I agree about the scenery in that part of the country--it is just beautiful.
All packed, and we're off to see the ocean, the wonderful ocean of OBX, and the traffic, and the crowds.LOL
Holly, those are beautiful!! Are you making any for sale???????? Someday, when you have the time, I'd be interested in a purchase.
Oh Jan, that pic is beautiful!! But my GOODNESS, 99 degrees at 7:00!? Really glad they have electricity hook-ups so you can run the ac. ACK!!
Oh Boy Ric and Holly - ROAD TRIP!!!!!! < =D Praying that the traffic is being sweetly cooperative and that y'all arrive safe and sound! =)
Have a great trip, Ric and Holly! Hope you are driving at a time when the roads are less crowded! We were out on I-95 today and it was pretty packed for what should be an ordinary Saturday afternoon.
LOL Roses no don't think I will be selling any. I want to make enough of them to put a path thru the secret garden by then I will probably have had enough and won't want to make any more.
Ric and I are happily ensconced at the beach. Rolled in very late last night, so Ric went out this morning and got the basic shopping done. He's laying down for a nap and I am heading to the beach.
Glad you arrived safely!! WOOHOO,!!
Chilled in the pool this morning. Loving on some grandies. Must remember to take pics of the girlies!
Sounds like you both are having lovely vacations, Holly and Jan! :-)
ditto

Well, as long as I write here, I am not going away. I don't have time for yet another site. Enjoy!
We are in Annapolis now at our son's place. Helping them pack up. They sold their house pretty quickly and will be ensconced in military housing on the Naval Academy grounds in a couple of weeks. Should be in our own beds tomorrow night. WHAT a summer!!!!! Not over yet, though. Still have to travel to Ivory Coast. Whew!!! Next week is VBS at church so we'll help out there.
wow Jan I thought you were still somewhere out west. Good news about the house selling.
Jan, glad you had a great trip. I think it would be great to travel, but I know I'd love to get back to my own bed too LOL. Sounds like you will soon be on your way far and away again for another adventure!
You can say that again. Adventures galore.
A little anxious about how the garden will look when I get home.
