Golden Beetle ID Please

Blue Ridge Mtns, VA(Zone 7a)

At least I think this is some kind of a beetle. The shell is very hard and is mainly a bright golden iridescent color.
It munched on Sweet Potato Vine leaves.

This is a special kind of leaf beetle known as a tortoise beetle - they feed primarily on members of the morning glory family, which includes sweet potatoes.

Ah, thank you so much! And thanks for linking such an informative article.
Any more of these beautiful beetles I find will be relocated to bindweed.
