I was planning on hybridizing stargazer oriental lily with Landini asiatic lily. I've heard mixed answers about whether seeds will form normally or require embryo rescue, can someone explain this process in as simple terms as possible as I know nothing about it.
I tried crossing Tiger lily to Stargazer last year, the tiger lily pollen got the stargazer to grow pods but after 3 weeks they suddenly shriveled and died, I bet embryo rescue would of saved them!
Embryo rescue for hybrid lilies
You should join the specialist lily societies if you need such specialized information, e.g. North American Lily Society (NALS).
