Photo taken with this little microscope attachment for smart phones. 2mm baby insect found by the 100s floating on pool. They can jump.

This is an adult springtail, a primitive arthropod closely related to true insects. The vast majority of them, such as your specimen, are harmless scavengers on decomposing organic matter. a few species are predators on other tiny arthropods, and some globular springtails can be pests on tender vegetation.
