Need help identifying these insects. They appear as very thin and tiny yellow , or orangish. They seem to either fly or jump. They are all over my patio in North Carolina. I don't have many plants and no trees in the backyard but the neighbor has vegetables and plants. They almost leave a prickly sensation or bite when they land on me. They're all over my daughters little pool and they land all over my iPod and myself when I'm back there.
Tiny yellow, orange insects all over patio- please help ID
If they can fly, they most likely are thrips - their rasping 'bite' can be irritating, but harmless...
