A bird planted this in my flowerbed last fall. Is it trash or treasure? Should I keep it or destroy?

Chinese Pistache. (probably what Resin is saying.) If Chinese Pistache, recommend that you get rid of it. It's very pretty but also very invasive and makes an incredible mess.

Agree with Baja that Texas Mtn Laurel is a treasure, but don't think that's what you have.

Mescal Bean (Texas Mountain Laurel, Sophora secundiflora) is a member of Fabaceae with rounded leaflets, rather than the pointed leaflets depicted.

Looks like Pistacia chinensis (Chinese Pistache) to me, as well.
